University of the Arts London is pleased to open the Annual Photography Award which was established in 2011 in memory of Ann Lesley Bar-Tur (1947-1984). Ann was an exceptionally talented British artist and alumna of Chelsea College of Art & Design who died after long illness in 1984. The Award was created by her family and friends in collaboration with University of the Arts London. The Bar-Tur Award is open to all current students studying an FE or HE course at University of the Arts London and University alumni who have graduated from an FE or HE course in the last ten years. There are fantastic prizes for the winners of The Bar-Tur Award, which include cash and internships within the creative industry. Shortlisted applicants will also have their work shown in an exhibition and publication. The Bar-Tur Award has a theme which aim is to encompass a diversity of interests and concerns of the broad community of photographic practitioners studying at University of the Arts London and amongst its recent graduates. This year the theme is ‘Olympian’. The Award is open for applications from 6pm, Thursday 22nd March 2012 and closes 10pm, Thursday 3rd May 2012.
